Oregon GIS Framework Coordinator
Theresa Burcsu is the Oregon GIS Framework Coordinator with the State of Oregon’s Geospatial Enterprise Office where she works to ensure that authoritative, foundational map data is available when and where it’s needed. As incoming ORURISA (Oregon Chapter of Urban and Regional Information Systems) President, Theresa will work to ensure that emerging and established GIS professionals are supported by the Chapter to the greatest extent possible. Theresa earned a Master degree in Geography from the University of North Carolina and PhD in Environmental Science from Indiana University, and is a certified GIS Professional (GISP). In her spare time, Theresa enjoys gardening, being a Girl Scout troop leader, working to become a proficient R user, serving on the board of a regional forest advocacy non-profit, and spending time with family.
